"Spyware - A Free Program"

Hi Gang,

Thanks for being here, I value every one of you and truly hope that you become successful online!

I've been working on a new site that has been very draining so this edition is assuredly late...and I apologize.

The site is a 'feeder' site that will be filled with articles and will drive traffic to another site of mine that delivers a consistent stream of income for me.

More on the feeder site in the introduction.

And, I took a few weeks off to get the house "baby ready"!

3 Free Resources

1. If you haven't gone to Mark Hendrick's Vault, you should take a look. There's lots of no cost resources for you to download. There's terrific new resources that have been added, check it our below!

Mark's Vault

2. Clickalyzer's Instant Affiliate Program - This software will allow you to set up and track affiliates so you can make more sales. Another solid product from Clickalyzer. I use Clickalyzer to track stats, see which pages are popular, how long visitors stay on certain pages, see which pages work and which don't etc. Its a great tracking tool.

Warning! Some marketers will try to sell you this tracking software from "Clickalyzer", don't pay for it. I am choosing to give it away to you for FREE...I value you as a member of this web site!

Get Clickalyzer's Instant Affiliate Program here at no cost. Once you sign up, you will be given the code to use on your web site to track your affiliates.

3. Jack Humphrey's site "Equipment.com". This site used to be pay per membership but is now FREE. Tons of tools, free stuff, articles, etc.

Check it out here ---> Equipment.com

There's 2 articles in this edition and an intro "Purpose of a Feeder Site".

Enjoy the issue!

Once again, thanks for being here, your membership to this e-zine is what matters most to me as an Internet marketer.

Intro by Karl...

1. The Purpose Of A Feeder Site.

The concept of using feeder sites to funnel traffic has been used for years on the Internet. The purpose of a feeder site is to send prospects to another main site and increase sales from another traffic channel.

Feeder sites can be a very effective way to increase targeted traffic to your main USP (Unique Selling Proposition) site through a 'similar' pretense. Once you have your main USP site up and running, you may want to develop a feeder site by doing the following:

1. Defining what you want the feeder site to do. It might be used to pre-sell someone, re-direct a visitor, or build your list faster...its entirely up to you, just make sure you define what you want the feeder site to do before you do anything.

2. After you've pinned down the focus of your feeder site, choose the appropriate keywords to drive traffic to it just like you would any other site.

Here's an example: Suppose you're an attorney and your site sells your services but also sells a distinct product that people would use or purchase...let's say it is a book on how to win a custody case for children. You may want to develop a feeder site solely for the purpose of driving traffic or pre-selling this book. You might put custody case articles and other free resources on this site so the site has value that costs nothing to the user. Feeder sites seem to work best when they softly pre-sell through free valuable information.

3. Of course, you want to link the sites together and have each site promote the other -- the feeder site and the main site.

Some feeder sites are complex while others are merely a couple pages...choose whatever will be best for your end goal...more sales.

Enjoy the rest of this edition and thanks again for reading.

Free Program Removes Spyware not Detected by Premium Security Scan Copyright 2004 Ed Zivkovic

What is Spyware?

Spyware monitors your surfing habits and sends the data off
to some remote server in cyberland. Your computer can get infected with spyware easily by visiting a web page or installing a software program. Kazza is a classic example of a free software download riddled with spyware. More info
here: http://compactURL.com/sdft

Spyware Detection Alert

Every week I do a full system scan with Norton Internet Security Professional.

This version of Norton is the top of the range when it
comes to detecting all manner of viruses including Trojan horses, spyware, scumware, joke programs and other programs which can cause harm or pose a security risk.

It is an excellent program and I believe my computer would
be dead and buried if it was not for Norton.

My most recent scan detected a Trojan Horse called Download.Trojan. This little meanie will attempt to go to the originators site and download more Trojans, worms, viruses and execute them. Scary stuff but Norton nipped it in the bud before any problems were created.

Also, every day Norton detects threats contained within my incoming emails. It immediately removes the threats by either fixing the infected files or deleting infected emails. This can be a reason I can be accused of not answering emails. Bad luck I say to that.

Ever since I have been running Norton, I have not been
scanning with Ad-Aware. I recently discovered that
Anti-Virus programs, as good as they are, sometimes fail to detect all threats from a computer. So I did a full scan with Ad-Aware and was surprised to discover even more spyware on my system. So now I will also be scanning once a week with Ad-Aware.

Free Spyware Removal Software

Ad-Aware is so good and yet it is free. It is available
from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/

There is more good free spyware detection programs
available here: http://www.spybot.info/en/index.

Find out what Scumware is here: http://www.scumware.com

Symantec has an Online Virus Encyclopedia which after a little browse, should be enough motivation for anyone to get some kind of anti-virus and security program installed on their computer. Find the entire A-Z known viruses encyclopedia here: http://compactURL.com/qhdf

Conclusion

Do a full system scan at least every week. Download the latest Anti-Virus definitions as soon as they become available. Use more than one program to ensure all threats are detected and removed immediately. Always enable your anti-virus and security program to scan all incoming and outgoing emails.

If you do not have the very best anti-virus protection, do not complain if your emails get no response. I allow my anti-virus program to delete all infected emails along with any attachments.

Turn One-Time "Hits" Into Repeat Visitors

- by Jim Edwards

http://www.thenetreporter.com

Every website owner faces the same challenge: How to get more traffic to their website.

"Build it and they will come" worked for Kevin Costner in "Field of Dreams," but that approach leads to bankruptcy and a failed business when it comes to your website.

Any savvy website owner knows that it takes a lot of work, time, and money to bring a visitor to your site for the first time.

Smart marketers also know that it rates a lot easier and cheaper to get people to come back for a return visit than to attract them for the first time.

The following tips will help any website owner convert more one-time "lookers" into repeat visitors and customers.

** Surveys **

Hold an interactive poll or survey on your web site.

Ask your website visitors questions about a topic of intense interest to them.

Not only do people enjoy giving their opinion, but they'll also want to read the results as you compile them and update them on your website over the next day or week.

One way to get their email address is to tell them you'll email the final numbers once the results are compiled.

My favorite survey tool is www.oneminutepoll.com, though you can easily do a poll for free by just having people email you their responses to your survey questions.

** Free Prizes **

If appropriate, hold an ongoing prize drawing on your web site.

The prizes you give should fit with the interests of your target audience and enable you to showcase what you offer for sale from your website.

For example, if you sell computer cables, give away something like Velcro cord ties with your web address on them and avoid things like teddy bears or bumper stickers.

** Original / Hard-to-find Content **

People go online first and foremost to get specific, relevant, timely information in areas that interest them.

For some that means news articles, for others sports scores, and for others it means current prices for things like stocks or commodities.

Whatever content they want, give it to people in a way they can't find anywhere else (or at least not very easily) and make it easy for them to see that your site rates a bookmark in their browser so they can return often.

** Brain Teasers **

People love a challenge, especially in an rea that holds great professional or special interest for them.

If you can provide a quiz, trivia questions, puzzles or some other "brain teaser" for people, many will take up the challenge.

You get them to return to your website by posting the answers and making that the only way they can see if they got it right.

** Breaking News **

People crave up-to-the-minute news on subjects about which they feel very strongly.

Some investors, for example, spend hours combing the Web for nuggets of information to help them evaluate specific markets, companies, or stocks.

One way to make your site invaluable to your audience members is to simply post a news bite, tip, or current "nugget" of relevant information on your site daily.

(Gee, kind of sounds like a BLOG doesn't it?)

If the information you give makes people jump up and holler "MORE! MORE!" then you can quickly build up a regular following.

** Resource Directories **

Few things keep people coming back to a website more than a constantly updated directory they can tap for industry- specific resources any time they need them.

This technique works especially well if it's hard to locate good resources related to your topic because people place a higher value on hard-to-find information.
