The latest...

The physical move of our homes has been a drag but its fun because we're now in somewhat of a fixer upper. We're in a nice neighborhood and we have terrific views of the Cascades so the fact that we're in a house that needs work is ok by us!

Why I have been late with this letter? Uh, I have lots of excuses :) I have been busy with a move...we've filled two pods full of things and they still aren't unpacked. We have a garage crammed with stuff (in no particular order might I add) and we're living downstairs while the floors upstairs get re-done (carpet and hardwoods).

When we moved in initially, we had the 1970's asbestos beautiful 'popcorn' ceilings! So, we had the popcorn removed and ceiling repainted. Lots to do! In between this 'remodel', I have been working on my product which is fairly exhaustive. I feel like I am back in college writing a term paper. I have 30 videos done and 15 more to do along with appropriate correlating transcripts...and then, I'll need to do the editing! I didn't realize how many things I know how to do from a webmasters perspective and from an Internet marketer's perspective.

I've taken a lot of things I can do for granted and its interesting to go back basics and outline keystroke by keystroke just how something gets done regarding web site development and marketing. It can be a serious undertaking for a newbie to be successful with web site design and Internet marketing.

I remember sitting at the keyboard not knowing what to do next. And, I recall working for hours just to learn how to get the web page to look the way that I wanted it. With this new product, you will be able to be up and running in short order and you'll see step by step what to do. Is the Adwords option for targeted traffic worth it?

I asked myself the same thing. And, if you've been following this newsletter for any length of time you know how much I love SEO and dislike paying for any traffic whatsoever.

But...and, this is a big 'but'...I must admit it is nice to have direct and targeted traffic to a web page of your choosing. Google's made it easy and the service is invaluable. Don't get me wrong 90% of my traffic comes from natural search engine listings and I won't stop optimizing for search results.

Its just that Adwords makes it simple to augment my marketing repertoire for the desired search terms where my web pages aren't ranked on the top page of each of the big 3 search engines - Google, Yahoo!, MSN. 

Adwords crushes Overture's option (now Yahoo! Search) in my opinion because the filter of what Google allows as a landing page is much more lenient than Overture...and, frankly, Overture's "overpriced" and the UI for the control panel to manage listings is arduous at best.

With Adwords, you can essentially develop a landing page that is designed to capture the name and email of the visitor and have similar content to the keyword phrase selected.

This is a huge difference between Adwords and Overture in my opinion...Overture's rigid about the content matching exactly the keyword phrase which isn't true advertising in my opinion, its just "pay to send someone to a web page".

If you design a landing page (or sales page) properly, you can maximize revenues from Adwords quite easily through selling a product (yours or someone else's). You can also track your ads activity level and adjust accordingly through Google's free tracking option, a great feature.

Be careful with any PPC option, it can get expensive if done improperly. Adwords in my opinion is still the best option for PPC...it is instant, easy to use, and can help you measure your market and your product's viability...the bottom line is "Adwords is the best".

And, to make sure you truly maximize the full potential of Adwords, read Perry Marshall's "The Definitive Guide To Google Adwords".

Perry i's the authority on the subject and has sold millions of dollars worth of products online. His system for formulating ads, maximizing every dollar spent while minimizing costs is fantastic! Do not use Google Adwords without reading this book! You will easily save 20 times the cost of the book if you follow his methods that are outlined in detail in
"The Definitive Guide To Google Adwords".
